Inspection of tank bottoms

AKUVIB carries out acoustic emission testing on flat bottom storage tanks for the detection and location of leaks

Flat-bottom tanks must be inspected at regular intervals of 5 years using the eddy current method. The disadvantage of this method is that the tank must be emptied and the floor must then be cleaned.

Acoustic emission makes it possible to locate any corrosion from the outside. In addition, the maintenance intervals for eddy current inspections can be significantly increased.
