Manufacturers of electrical and electronic components, devices, and equipment for railway technology are obliged to exclude disturbances, unsafe conditions, and damages to devices caused by electromagnetic interference.

The proof of Electromagnetic Compatibility is provided through an independent, accredited test. Upon successful testing according to EN 50121-3-2, electrical and electronic parts may be installed in trains. The EN 50121-4 applies accordingly to signal and telecommunication equipment.

Our modern EMC laboratory is accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) for such tests.

In trains, a variety of electrical components come together. This includes both the components of the train, the track, and the so-called Passenger Carried Devices, and their interaction must be considered.

For smooth operation, it is necessary to ensure Electromagnetic Compatibility in the interaction of the different components. This is also required by the legislator in the EN 50121-X series of standards for railway applications.

Additionally, if your product is used in Germany, compliance with EMV 06 (Radio Compatibility of Rail Vehicles with Railway Radio Services) may need to be demonstrated.

AKUVIB offers you the necessary tests and thus a safe product.

The relevant components are tested for emission according to standards EN 61000-6-4 (radiated emission) and EN 50121-X (conducted emission), as well as for immunity according to basic standards EN 61000-4-2 (electrostatic discharge), EN 61000-4-3 (electromagnetic high-frequency fields), EN 61000-4-4 (fast transients/bursts), EN 61000-4-5 (surges), EN 61000-4-6 (conducted radio-frequency disturbances), and EN 61000-4-11 (voltage dips).
