The eigenmode analysis is used to detect defects in the material and to examine the damping behaviour

By exciting a body, e.g. with a shaker or impulse hammer, its typical “sound pattern” can be recorded as a characteristic of its structure. In the vibro-acoustic examination, AKUVIB uses this to record the workpiece-specific variables with microphones and acceleration sensors and to evaluate them in the time and frequency range.

Comparative examinations are carried out on the basis of reproducible measurements and the measured values of a test specimen are compared with the previously defined I.O. criteria. Defective areas such as material defects, different degrees of hardness or crack formation can be detected reliably and without destruction in the components.

In addition to the material properties, the dynamic stiffness and the damping behaviour of an object can also be determined. This information can be used, for example, to design bearings or integrate reinforcements into a construction.

  • Checking and documenting the quality of components
  • Detection of faulty spots, material defects or deviations in the structure
  • Acquisition of the entire test specimen by volume-oriented measurements
  • Mobile measuring equipment
  • Measurement resolution up to 0.5 Hz
